RawtoRipe: SG’s first LIVE virtual cooking series

Learn the basics of how to cook the perfect Basmati rice with an oomph factor! For the first time, you will be guided by Sowmiya, MasterChef Singapore Finalist to cook 2 exclusive plant-based dishes through a video conference.

Vegan and yum recipes you’ll learn during this class: 

1. Mint-Coriander Rice: A chutney rice that is a take on herb rice that you can serve to pep up any meal. 
2. Olive-Corn Rice: A quick nutritious rice that you can make using some of your grocery store staples.

Equipment needed:

  • Food processor/chopper
  • 2 wide pans
  • Flat spatulas
  • Knife chopping board.

Ingredients: are provided by email as soon as you sign up!

Living with my husband and son in Singapore. A self-taught cook, I love to play with flavour, texture combinations and use spices to give dishes a depth of character. My approach is to be out-of-box, discover new ingredients, pair them with the traditional and plate to serve an experience. I cherish feeding people and happiest taking in the sight of their clean plates.
My philosophy on food is simple. It should be fun, tasty and balanced. Balance is key. A good plate should offer a balance in texture, flavour and colour. A feast for the senses.

Learning to cook can be daunting and challenging to find time for; am I going to look stupid with others who seem to be so professional, will I be free on this morning in three weeks’ time? And even after I learnt the dishes in the class, the kitchen at cooking studio is so different from my kitchen that I don’t even know where to start when I get home. We’ve experienced all these challenges so we want to make learning cooking much better.

With our virtual cooking class, you’ll be able to cook at the comfort of your kitchen while following our experienced, humorous and the one-and-only home chef, Sowmiya whipping up easy and tasty meals.

An exclusive interactive cooking experience with one of the best (and humorous) home cooks in Singapore. The class is LIVE, so you can ask Sowmiya questions at any point of the class

In one hour, you’ll learn two exclusive recipes created by Sowmiya for this class. It will include basic techniques that help you get started on cooking

Recipes will be shared on YoRipe app, so you can buy the ingredients before the class (we promise the ingredients are common enough that you either already have them at home or can find them at your nearest supermarket 🙂

We don’t provide the ingredients or tools but we promise all ingredients are readily available in normal supermarkets and only basic tools are required (as seen below)

No cooking skills required! Join the online class to learn, ask as many questions you have and enjoy 🙂

  1. A large pot to boil pasta and a frying pan to make sauce
  2. Ingredients for the recipes (recipes will be shared after your registration) 
  3. A laptop or tablet with Wifi connection
  4. 1 hour of your Saturday afternoon 
  5. Maybe a cooking buddy with a glass of wine? 😉

The class is a one time only live broadcast. You’ll be able to ask questions and get advices from Sowmiya at any time during the class. The class is exclusive for you and won’t be recorded for later viewing, ask as many questions you might have and enjoy!

The class will last 1 hour in total.
The two dishes you will learn to make will take approx. 20 minutes each.

Yes, once you’re registered through Peatix, we’ll send you all the necessary items you need to follow the class

Yes, please do substitute the ingredients for alternatives that match your dietary preferences/needs; do contact us via our WhatsApp group if you need help/suggestions for alternatives!

As we are doing a trial class, once paid, fees for the cooking class are non-refundable.
